I grew up on the family farm, spending most of my spare time devouring books and games in equal measure. My sister and I kept busy with a multitude of extracurriculars and livestock, but I always snuck some time to write or draw.
With a lot of hard work and help from family, I received a generous livestock show scholarship. I hadn't given much thought to my future career, but the scholarship stipulations led me to the agricultural communications program at Texas Tech University. I quickly discovered I had an aptitude for graphic design. Pursuing opportunities both on and off-campus convinced me that I should pursue it as a career.
After completing my masters thesis and graduating in 2014, I designed graphics, websites and marketing materials across a wide variety of industries, including self-storage, commercial brokerage, medical spas, doctors' offices, and weight management consulting. In between, I kept sharp with freelance work: everything from logging medical records to copy editing and branding.
I'd like to work with a friendly, responsive team that values accessibility and clarity. I'm currently open to communications and design positions, either remote or based in Orange County.
If you think I'd be a good fit, drop me a line.
